Finally got the A/C bezel, 2 door bezels and 2 frames around A/C vents completed. IMO, the only thing left to do is to accent some smaller pieces, and NOT paint anymore large areas. I thing the little 3-slat vents above the A/C vents that defog the side windows would look good with a matching accent color. ENJOY!

Notice the reflection of the window switches in this one:

Here are a couple of older pics:

I think it looks pretty good I've always wondered what painted pieces would look like with tan interior. I'd like to do something similar, but with a black car and tan interior, can't really decide on a color.

You are getting really good at the painting there RC. If you need a little more enhancement work to do in the future, consider doing the bezel of the 2 gauges or just the inner face of the pod.
I was thinking about making my door carpet black at the bottom to go with my black mats. That might look cool in your car to. I don't have photoshop so I can't do an example.

Thanks JR.
I considered the gauge pod FACE ONLY, but I may leave it because that piece would be hard to tape off...I could do the black ring around the gauges

Anyway, as we speak Im priming the two little vents on top of the dash, just about the a/c vents...the ones that blow air out to defog the side windows.
That will look nice accented.

You gotta help me out with the pony on the SW..

Get down here soon!!!

too be honest I thought the 3 tone thing was gonna suck really hard. but I was wrong... that pic where you can see the door controls in the paint is pretty awesome, obviously you did a top notch job with it and spent some time. Well done all around!

I figured, but didnt want to rub it in..Since youre in "downtime" now, this would be a good chance for you to paint some of your stuff, or polish some more engine parts.

I dont think ANYONE, including me, thought it would look good. JR suggested it and Im glad he did...can always change back if I didnt like)
And yes, You do have to spend some time, not like you do polishing, but you cant just "throw" paint on there and handle it, putting it back in w/o lots of coats and decent drying time.
About the controls...I was gonna get the chrome switches, but the place I got my pieces from stopped selling them b/c they ruin the base that they pivot on, and if that happens, you have a really bigger problem..
Thanks
RC

Actually, they do, EXCEPT the driver's seat..If you look closely in the older pic, dated 12/16, you can tell. Also, look at those CRAPPY old Walmart Tan mats

The painted horse on the sw is very simple. You need only 2 small brushes. One of them you will trim away some of the bristles so it will be small to get the edges. Use tinly dabs and strokes then put some clear over it and then you are done.
No coffee or excessive soda intake is helpful.

I have a couple of brushes I got from the "crafts" area in Walmart when I did my daughters' Pinewood derby cars...They look like they have about 5 bristles on them.

So do you think you may paint your A/C frames JR???
I have the little vents on top drying right now.

Where the h3ll is Zach now??
