does anyone have/had one of these performance meters in their car?
I am looking at the Tesla Electronics G-Tec Pro RR and the Auto Meter D-PIC guage.
I have been pretty sure about the Tesla, but now seeing the Auto Meter, I'm wondering if anyone has any comparison info. Would be cool to mount it like my other guages, but the Tesla has a good software package.

I was givin as a gift the escort passport G-timer which is the exact same thing as a G-tech.....and all i can say is WOW.

These things are dead on accurate, i even saw an article in HOt ROD where they took one to a track and it was no more then .010 off in like everey measurment!!
Now for my experiance, you do have to calibrate them to your specific car, my buddies TA put down 261 on a dyno, and ran a 2.5 60' with a 9.2 1/8th mile time........We put the G times in his car and it rated him at 260 horse power, and with a 2.4 60' with a 9.2 1/th mile (we didnt do a 1/4 run) but i was very mpressed, the new autometer thing is crazy i like it lol

I used the portable "G" tech meter with mixed results. The worst thing about it was the suction-cup mounting. I stuck it on my clean/dry windshield and made a pass at the drag strip to check its accuracy and it flew off and almost hit me in the head! It is now sitting on my desk collecting dust......

Why dont you mount it somewhere away from your head its not like it will hit you agian.

LOL :rlaugh: :rlaugh:   :rlaugh: :rlaugh:

I have one of the old G-Techs I got a couple years ago for like $140. I was going to ebay it and found out they go for around $30 now.

Anyway, the only real nuance is having yuor car weighed with you in it. All these accelerometers are dependent on an accurate vehicle weight.
