Performance Starter motor??

My mach has a 302 C4 auto. Has any one had any luck with any of the aftermarket high torque starters? I used to put a cheap parts store starter in it every couple of years, then I bought a starter from the Ford Dealer. It lasted ten years!!

Has anyone tried to put a Ford mini starter on a II?? If so what car did it come from?? My 91 Mark VII had 850000km on it when I changed the original mini starter!:D

I've tried 3 different mini starters. IMHO They're for race cars, since they like to heat soak bad. I'm now running a brand new autolight starter for a '90 mustang. Works like a champ. The older starters that ford used are pretty good too, at least they don't have that awful grind/whine like a generic motors starter.

I have a new RobbMc performance starter if you are interested. It was for my brother's pro-street II, but didn't work with his custom oil pan. I run this same exact starter in my Shelby and love it.

BTW, I also have a Meizire electric water pump if you are interested (saw your WP thread also).

I work at a speed shop and get my parts at cost, and oh, I live in :canada:

Thanks though!
