Performer Intake???'s

Thinking about getting this intake, will I have to get a new hood, I know I gotta change the the strut tower brace.

Any suggestion about anyother intake that flows better, I got emmsion testing where I am at, so I gotta stay street legal.

Also jegs has it listed for $489.99 any one gotta place where I can get a better price????

aslo what Size throttle body and Mass Air should I invest in????

is there anything else I need to buy except a strut tower brace?

It'll fit under the stock hood. I just took my strut tower brace off and left it off. Noticed no difference. You also need to buy the elbow adapter. I got mine in the classifieds brand new. Check there first, sometimes you can find a deal. I wouldn't mess with the TB or MAF yet. You'll feel little to no gain with those on a bolt-on car. Spend that money on gears or something.

Pulleys? Start saving up for heads and cam. TB and MAF are usless mods (for the price) on a stock heads, cam car.

it will fit under your hood, that elbow adapter costs like 89.00 bucks.
But trickflow makes you buy one as well, so no matter what, expect topaythat with any aftermarket intake (except the gt-40 I think).

Other than that, some of the supplies Edelbrock supplies you with, won't fit, (some vacuum lines for the upper intake), and I believe 2- 3/8 plugs were missing from mine.

You'll need gaskets for the install but thats about all. The performer is a nice intake and has been proven on many different setups. I would go with a 65mm TB, anything else will be too big for your car. I'd also wait on the MAF unless you want to buy some injectors at the same time. What are your overall plans for this car? Are you going to do just a few mods or complete H/C/I? Are you going with a power adder in the near future? All of these questions you need to ask yourself. With just an intake you dont need any bigger injectors, but if your adding heads and a cam you'll need to step up to 24lb injectors and get the MAF calibrated for them. If your going with a power adder you'll more than likely want to get 42lb injectors and a MAF calibrated for them. Just trying to save you money on having to get the MAF recalibrated for different injectors.

When I'm finished with my car, I want 331 w/ performer intake, Brodix race/track 1's, Custom cam.

will the intake work in brodix heads?

It'll need to be ported, but it should be a torque monster.

The performer will be great for now...because when you step it up in the future you can swap to the RPM upper manifold!....now as far as TB's and MAF's are concerned...i HIGHLY recommend the Pro-M 80mm....you will probably never have to upgrade from that in the future....for the TB id say FMS 65mm...but if those motor plans(331, H/C/I) are coming sooner rather than later id say go right for a 70mm....you may loose a little on a 302 but you will like it on the 331....or im sure a 65 will do fine on that car as well....

their is no point going with a 65mm tb, if your future plans dictate and you're going to spend money go at least with a 70mm. you wont lose power by going with a 70mm tb on a mild 302.

i'm just gonna stick with my stock tb and mass air right now until I get bigger injectors/adjustable fuel regulator................So my next question would be, the intake should bolt right up w/ stock TB after I buy the tb adaptor?

You could also go with a FOX intake setup. But you would have to get a FOX tb and elbow. Just a thought.
