What are the adapter plates for and do they really make that much of a difference? I'm installing my PI intake this weekend so if I'm gonna need them I want to order them now, also where can I get them from?

Those figures came from Livenoise motorsports. As to the validity of them, I don't think they had a dyno sheet. I'd say the 10-15hp estimate is pretty accurate from a SOTP feel when I did the PI Intake swap (a bit more of an improvement than the Off-Road H-Pipe). Didn't use any adaptor plates and never saw any leaks. I'm just having a hard time believing a little bit of port matching is worth an additional 20-25hp.
No question about that - port matching is a worthwhile endeavor, but I can promise anyone here that it is not worth 20-25hp, even in forced induction apps. 5-10hp would be somewhat believeable.Blev said:Those figures came from Livenoise motorsports. $649 for 5-10hp? Money better spent elsewhere, IMHO.
Green4.6GT said:keep in mind, this is almost as good as the headswap (10-15hp diffrence) and the headswap isnt anywhere near as cheap as this... you have to buy the heads, new head bolts, head gaskets, cam cover gaskets etc... add 400 bucks to the price of the intake and heads and you should be about right, not to mention pulling your entire engine bay appart, i like this approach alot better..
The 5-10hp is just an estimate of what I feel the plates are worth over doing the intake alone. And if your numbers are right, then I guess I wasn't too far off. 18-22hp for the intake alone and 35hp for the intake with plates.
