pic request...275/50/15 with 8" wheel 5.5BS

I just put my draglites on this morning. the rims are 15x8 and I have MT 275/50/15 ET street DRs. The rims have a 5.5 BS. The problem is that I think they stick out too far. I think that even if I roll the lip, they will still rub. Anybody have pics of this same combo on their car? Seems like alot of stangs are rolling around with this combo, but mine just looks weird for some reason. I'll post a pic in a little pit 2 show what I'm talking about.

I just purchased the same tires (275/50R15 M/T radials) as well for my GT and was wondering the same thing. I was considering running a 9 or 10" rim though with 5.5 backspacing and I'm wondering what I'm going to have to do to make them fit with out rubbing. I dont have tailpipes or quad shocks and it looks like it's going to be tight.

i have 275/60/15 mickey thompsons also and i didnt think they were even gonan fit my car, i think that the mickeys just run really big compared to other tires. my 275/60's dont stick out that much though, and they hit the fender lips like once or twice so far. i would suggest putting an airbag in each spring so the car dosent start to gouge the tires. i got myne for like 20 each, i think from steeda

Look's good speadfreak. I'm running 15x8.5 and 5.0 bs with 275/50/15 BFG Drgs on a 88 LX (with air bag's) and no problem's. I'll try to post a pic. Look's like the same height as mine.

I had 245/50/16 Nitto DRs on chrome pony wheels before now. Maybe I'm just used to looking a those tiny Nittos. I wanted to lower the car slightly, but I guess that's out the window now.

Is backspacing the same as offset? I bought these wheels off of a guy who bought them and never used them, so I didn't know the exact diminsions of them. I just know that when I got the tires mounted today, when he put them on the balancer, he swung this little arm thingy around to the rim, and the digital readout said 5.50. I asked what that was and he replied "offset". I just assumed that was the same a backspacing.

speedfreak your look like a 4.5 in back space. remove a tire and with a tape measure you want to measure from the inside of the center section of you rin to the inside lip. thats your back space measurement.

yeah me 2, i got the same setup and it bolts right up.

they look kinda goofy, stick out a bit, but i dont drive em at all, just at the track so i dont care how i look there.
