Unless your smart... I drink legally, spend a ton on dumb stuff, and still have money to my name. Not even close to that in HS and college. I'd say save now, be nice to move out at a young age, Trust me!

Would these pistons clear? I am not looking at building anything radical. My radical build will be 351 based waayyyy down the road so if these will clear the valves with the cam I havethen I will go with them. Hyper pistons will be fine on my NA setup and I can afford my street bike I've been wanting

Same here. Im 36
After building a few mustangs I am not so quick to buy anything.

My advice is: Decide first what you want to do. Then make parts purchaes when the money is available. When it gets finished it gets finished. If you rush and cut corners it will bite you in the azz everytime!

I'm not really cutting corners. I just need an engine to make me through 4 years of college and 4 of med school. If it doesn't make it then so be it. I'll probably have a DD by the time I'm done with Pre-med anyway.

Build a 302-306 with very mild mods. If you want it to last and be low maintenace dont get carried away.

Well I already have the HCI so i am going to stick with it. But the 302 is what I am wanting to keep and the pistons I posted above I could just pop out my old ones and slap these new ones in with fresh rings and be set.

Sounds like a plan. You will want to measure the bores and make sure they are not to worn to make a good seal.

You may very well be able to hone them and install new pistons.

I vote for a mugnum 281hr, not too big but not too small, its .512 intake and .533 exhaust, with 881 and 284 duration.
