everyone who has eibach drag springs can you post pics of your stance in the rear..im not sure if i should cut a coil off the rear or not.. post pics please!!!!

cut the fronts not the back. here is mine with 275/50/15

I wouldn't recommend cutting coils, at all. But, FWIW, here's what my notch looks like with uncut Eibach drag springs...

^^^ anymore pics i have a coupe its hard to tell on GT's i will have coilovers up front just want the back to sit nice with some 275/50/15's out back

It seems to sit pretty level from what I can tell. When I first got the car, I thought the springs made the front end stick way up, but that was because there was so much fender gap because of the shorter front tires (195/60/R15) compared to the huge honkin' rears (255/60/R15). After running same-sized tires at all four corners (shown in all pics above), it seems a lot more level.

EDIT: I wonder if the weight of a hatch puts more weight on the rear VS having a shorter rear window and a trunk, thus the rear sits lower on hatch model Foxes with these springs?

As for cutting springs, Eibach even says in their packaging that you can cut the springs "within reason" to adjust ride height. I took 3/4 coil off each of my rears to get rid of the rake look. I have the Pro Kit though..

hhhmmm sorry to derail here............but 5.SLOW what did you cut off the front?

I have eibach 1.5 drop springs in front and Moroso drag springs in rear. Obviously I want to swap out the fronts but don't want it looking like a 4x4. I was looking at either the Eibach drag springs or a set of cheap 4 cylinder peices

i havent cut anything off mine yet, it looks like **** though. i am gonna go buy some hose clamps and take my springs out and cut them in a few weeks

For real I got mine from autozone for like 31 or 38 bucks, rent or buy price, I rented it but will return next week to but it

haha this is a source of much debate. All I can say is be careful. YES people have had their heads taken off by flying springs!

its ok i wear a bike helmet when i do it...

the advanced auto spring compressor. DOES NOT WORK

post pics of how you get it to work?

FWIW, there's more than one type of spring compressor available. Check your local Harbor Freight, they should have 'em.

I don't see why you'd need a spring compressor on these cars, anyway. Can't you just put a jack under the control arm and lower it slowly after everything's disconnected until the spring falls out, and then poke the new spring in, jack it back up, and bolt everything back together?

all you do is drop the control arm and nothing will go flying anywhere.. it will just fall right out

i did it that way and took a jack handle to the back of my head, and couldnt see for 5 minutes after, removing springs is not fun, im glad i have coilovers now

when i took the bolts out the A-arm came down at an angle and wedged itself inside the k-member, so i had the bright idea of putting the jack about an inch under the spring and i hit the arm with a hammer, when the a-arm hit the jack, the handle flew back and cracked me in the head, it felt like someone ran up and hit me with a baseball bat. Sounded that way too.

probly one of the dumbest things i ever did working on a car, but i didnt have much of a choice to get the spring out, the car had no motor, so everytime i tried to jack it up, the whole car would raise and i was getting nowhere. Im still alive and ive got the lump to prove it.
