i have a dual pillar pod with a phantom electric fuel pressure gauge and am thinking of running a phantom oil pressure gauge with it. not sure whether to run the ele. or mech. gauge. ive also been told to run the air/fuel gauge but i hear that they are crap and dont work well.

what are you guys running ???

thanks

thanks for the replies. it looks like we are all in agreement about the oil pressure gauge. are there any downfalls to the mech. in the **** pit? i know some people dont like to have the mech. fuel pressure inside.

hey teal terror,
your gauges and pedals look like mine but i have the saleen pedals and the el glo white face gauges. then i have the phantom monster tach on the dash. all (except the tach for now) light up indiglo blue.............like this.

i also used these bulbs behind the white face a/c gauges. now i need to upgrade the tach face light to blue.

keep em coming.............

You can't mount a mechanical fuel pressure gauge in the cockpit, nobody makes one that is safe. Otherwise, there are no downfalls to mechanical gauges in the cockpit, unless you consider a slightly more difficult installation as a downfall. I have two machanical gauges on my dash

and that was a snap. It would be considerably more difficult to put them in a pillar pod, my electric ones were tight inside on the wires that are back there

As for the A/F meter, some of them are junk, some of them are good. If you don't know how to read it, it won't do you a bit of good. If you do, it will take half of the guesswork out of your tuning and troubleshooting of drivablilty issues. If you have any forced induction, you should have one and know how to use it.

where did you guys get the full pillar pods? I'm also looking for a stock fit, no a universal, just never liked the look of something bolted over top. I'm looking for a triple guage 2-1/16

Jegs sells them, and im sure a lot of others do too. Look in a MM&FF book and look for the Jegs ad. You will see the full triple pods.

That's what I have (see my other post)- it's an AutoMeter part and I got it from Summit Racing. About as factory looking as it gets.
