with due respect, half of that list is *unecessary*. Desired? yes. Needed? no.

If its kept simple. IE CARBED powerplant and nitrous... the entire swap can be done for less than a grand.

We took a 4 cylinder fairmont and turned into a 7.8 sec 1/8 mile car for just $1,200. Granted, a fairmont IS a foxbody but that point is: You dont NEED to spend a lot of money to run good times. I know that point will be argued, but hey its the net. I've got proof in my driveway

what would it take to get 400hp out of this 3.8? i could do that then get a 100 shot to just make sure. if i strip out things i dont need, i might get light enough to beat him. ya know, just race the car without any of the body panles or doors lol. race the frame lol. but seriously can it be done to make this V6 beat the lt1. reminder, this lt1 will be mainly stock. he dosnt 1. know about cars, and 2. dosnt want to take any of the luxury opptions out of his car. im thinking a low 12 sec car will beat him. if not it will be close enough. also i will be puting 410 gears in mine and instaling a shift kit. so i will have the gearing to do the 1/4 mile. he wont.

you can get 400hp with a TURBO. go for it. twin turbo for $4500 max (probably closer to $4000)

I hate to say it, but this is one of the worst idea's i've ever heard. sure-mod your car like there's no tomorrow and race him-but not for pink slips. Especially since you guys are friends or what-not if one guy takes the other person's car, you will hate each other. I'd love to see a former V6 stang beat a corvette but i would hate to see you lose your car that you will have so much time and money in if you lose the race.

That's an awful lot of money to invest for a grudge because a guy with a 350 said he could beat out a 232. Honestly, can you blame a guy who owns a vette for talking smack about beating a 6er?

By all means, mod your car and have fun with it. But don't be upset that a guy with a bigger, faster engine said your car is slow.
