i got a 351 out of 72 torino and im gonna drop it in the stang so was wonderin if my tranny and all that will hold it and where to look for custom motor mounts if theyre needed and also wondering what a good size carb would for it. thanks

If you're just putting a stock 351 in out of a Torino I don't see the point. I'd save your money up for some mods to the Torino motor first. Otherwise it's going to make about the same power and be heavier. Has the Torino engine been converted to run on unleaded gas?

converting to a carbed setup is kind of a pain. unless you really want to go carbed, you should consider holding off on this project.

in either case, the main things necessary to get a 351 into our cars include changing the oil pan and headers. then it depends on your direction ...

if you want to stay carbed, then you need to change the fuel delivery system to provide the fuel at a much lower pressure.

if you want to stay efi, then you need to get an efi intake and you will need to modify the fuel rails to make them wider and get a different distributor.

the transmission should bolt right up though.

then there is the hood clearance question. a 351 is taller and wider than a 302.
