Plasma Booster

[Green Machine]

Has anyone tried or heard about the Plasma Booster from Ignition Solutions, Inc. ? They make a spark enhancement product that gives more spark duration / frequency thus making more hp. I believe the web site had a 2000+ GT making 4+ rwhp and about the same in torque. The articles in the different Mustang I've read say it works.

The price of the unit is 165.00 for our 5.0 motors. Let me know if you've tried it and what you think about it.

On a stock (or nearly stock) 5.0, they're not worth it. But I see that you are not really stock at all. I'd say if you could find one used, then maybe, otherwise just get a new coil from MSD.

On a side note, I see you have a 76mm C&L MAF. What injectors are you running, and how do you like the C&L? I might take the easy way out and buy a C&L instead of going through the hassle of getting my Pro-M recalibrated. Thanks!

EDIT: I see now you're running 24lb injectors.

Anyway,Not worth the cash to me...dynos can vary that much from user to user. Dont always trust what is advertised...even if its not the direct company doing the advertisement.

Hey Chris whats your Pro M calibrated for?

Stock 19lb's. I'll probably throw a C&L on there while my Pro-M is getting recalibrated. While I like the fact that all I have to do to recal a C&L is change sampling tubes, I like Pro-M's quality better. So I'll stick with the Pro-M and either resell the C&L, or keep it just in case.

yeah it seems like the c&l's are hit or miss. A lot of guys say don't buy them but theres a few that say they work great. Either way its a lot of money to put towards something that might not work for **** when your sure a Pro-M will work. I guess its a you get what you pay for deal

Actually, the name is pretty accurate. Don't confuse the medical definition for plasma with the the physics definition for plasma.

Plasma - [physics] An electrically neutral, highly ionized gas composed of ions, electrons, and neutral particles. It is a phase of matter distinct from solids, liquids, and normal gases.

This makes sense when you think about what's happening in your combustion chamber, plus you've heard of a plasma cutter, right? It doesn't cut liquid, but rather uses an electric arc with pressurized gas to cut metal.
