I did a search beforehand and couldnt any difinitive answers. I spied a couple Granadas in the JY and I got the front brakes off the one that still had them(1978). They both had rears under them, but one was definitely an 8.8". The other I'm not sure if it was an 8 or 9. I dont remember what the center of the rear axles looked like, but I distinctly remember the wheel lug part had three access holes for the retaining plate instead of one, if that helps.

Thanks.

Well, I already have a 28spl 3.50 9" T-Lok pumpkin, so I cant really use the 8.75 even if it would work. The reason I was asking about the wheel flanges is because I couldnt quickly get under the rear and can barely see under it on top of that. I saw something on the ultrastang site about the center of the rear axle being distinguishable between 8s and 9s. Thanks for the help so far.

Correct me if i am wrong but doesn't the center housing of the 9" rear appear more round in shape, where the 8" is oval and is flat on the bottom and tops of the housing?

any rear in any granada whether 8.75", 8" or 9" will be 28 spline. You do not want the 8.75" rear. The 9" rears used in vehicles from late 60's-up have the big flat dimple on the left half of the pumpkin. Only the early 9"'s, up until the mid 60's had the round pumpkins without the big flat section. 8" rears stayed round, they have 2 little small dimples and a drain plug. All the information you need is on the ultrastang site, print it out and take it with you if you go back to look at them. 9" drum brake rears are hard to find in a granada, but a few were equipped that way. Most were 8", some were the 8.75".
