decision....

soo check this out..... i am set on this tire size.... 335/30/18.... only problem is... im not sure whether or not it will fit my rim....... i have 18x10 saleens.... I know 315s will fit no problem, but everyone has 315s.... i seen 2 pics of guys running 335s and it just looks insaneee... pure sickness.... I am familar that i will need to modify a few things to make them fit the car, but what i want to know is.. will they fit my rims just fine??? and safely??? i dont wanna buy a wider rim for the backs.. i would like to still use my 18x10 saleens...

I THINKK itll work just fine and ill explain why.,.... what i need your help for is to confirm whether or not my thinking is correct????
............................
This guy posted a pic of his car in my '"Show me pics of your mustangs ass thread" and his car has 315s on a 17x9 wheel which seems like a small wheel for a 315 tire......... yes theres a little buldge but it dont seem bad at all.. actually it looks pretty good IMO...... here... he has Nitto 315s on his car..

315mm width is 12.40 inches wide
However nittos width= 12.12 nches wide
Soo in that picture, you are looking at 17x9 wheels running 12.12 inch wide tires
.

335mm measured width is 13.1 inches wide
Nittos width is 13.19 for 335s
bfg/kuhmo width 13.50 inches doe 335s

-On my 18x10 wheel, wheel width has been widened by an inch
- so if i stuck with nitto, ide be running 18x10 wheels with 13.19 inch wide tires (1.07 inch wider)
- Other brand tire, ide be running 18x10 wheels with 13.5 inch wide tires (1.38in wider)

So all that said, should i be able to fit the 335s on my wheels??? i just dont know if im deff gonna go with nittos...

. soo what do you guys think? can i do this??? if i can do this, do i have to stick with nitto? or can i run any other make thats 1.38in wider??

sorry if i confused the hell out of you lol.. please help me out here BECAUSE I WANT 335s and your advice will make it happen if itll work!

i have 295/35/18s on my 18x10 wheels and they fit perfectly, IMO. having said that, i would think 335 might look too bulgy on a 10" wheel. there was a 03 GT in town that had 335/30/18s but he was running 18x11 wheels

By my calculations, for proper fit & performance a 335mm (13.1") wide tire at the sidewall needs a 11.5" wide rim. Period. How you get there is up to you.

Check the manufacture's recommended rim width. 335's I think are too big for a 10" and 305's are about max. 295 are optimum if I remember correctly when I bought my 18x10 Saleens.

Exactly. Just go to tire rack. Find your tire. It says right there what the rim width range is.

I have 295s on mine and they are perfect. Any bigger would bulge too much on a 10" rim.

My 335s roll off of my 10.5" wide rims pretty good, so I'd bet they would be REALLY tight on a 10" wide rim. I'm dropped on 17"s, and I BARELY have room with rolled fenders. I can't imagine how tight the 18s would be.

At least it's not as bad as this guy who threw a 315 on an 8" wide rim.

What a waste that 315 is on a 8" rim.

Wide tires do look good, but IMO a 295 or 315 is more than enough. With a good suspension, a 275 should have no issues sticking with moderate power. Purely from an aesthetic standpoint, a 315 to a 335 probably isn't worth it.

I think 11" wide is really the way to go with a 335... that's just too much tire for a 10".

I couldn't get ANY traction on a Nitto 245 drag radial. I got these 10.5" wide rear wheels and some BFGoodrich T/A Drag Radials, and I cut a 1.7 60 foot.

If you ever plan to drive in the rain with those tires...I'd probably say don't also. Hydroplaning becomes a serious issue even at normal speed with these widths.
