what if smog pump....

I'm planning on plugging up the tubing that leads from the h-pipe and to the heads and smog pump. Most people on here talk about buying a new belt and removing the smog pump. What if the tubing is plugged and the smog pump is left in place just so I can keep my current belt. Any problems with this?

It will be very noisy and there will be no advantage unless you remove the pump. Get an air pump eliminator pulley and you can keep your belt. it is a block of metal that bolts in place of the air pump.

What I did hawkeye is remove the smog pump and all the tubing completely. For one it saves weight which is one of the main reasons people remove them and the other is it looks a lot cleaner. I don't know what your combo is but if you cats still you shouldn't remove your smog pump. I can't remember the belt size off hand but do a search and you find this post about 20 times.
thanks

Most people say a 895k6 belt for the smog delete... I ended up going with a 905k6 but now that belt is a hair too big. Try the 895k6 first, if thats too small, see if you can get a 900k6 (my auto parts store didnt cary that size... maybe its a custom size???)

Thanks for the advice. I was just hoping that there was some way to alter the smog pump so that it wouldn't be noisy and I could still use the same belt (and I wouldn't have to buy a smog pump delete pulley). The H-pipe is OR by the way.
