Oh, because it takes work to saw off the pipe, and the result is kinda tacky. The inserts from Ford cost a couple of bucks and are made for the purpose. And once you destroy the thermactor, you would have to pay for a new one if there was ever a reason to reattach it ... and I'm betting it will cost more than a couple bucks.94SC50 said:This did not cost me a cent.

Yeah the result is tacky and you can't even see them. I will never have to replace it for any reason. I "should" just give up on this hobby b/c I can't afford it. Seriously, there are better ways to save money, if you can't afford a couple bucks for the inserts you probably can't afford this hobby.

Those are not wires, they are vacuum lines, and they operate the valves in the smog equipment.
