You need this spiral sewn wheel for the tripoli..Again this is the MOST important compound when transforming from the paper

As far as the calipers..DONT worry about getting them mirror...I didnt on mine. They get too dirty outside anyway. A nice silvery shiny is fine.

Look at the fuse box cover here..This was done with tripoli, then rouge..NO MOTHERS.

the most important step to take when transforming from a once nonpollished surface is wet sanding than to compond out the the balance of fine scratches.Paul if your getting scratches you are most likely picking up debris from some where.Rc is right in the wheel ap for that product for buffing out whats left for fine scratches but keep in mind that if you don't keep enough material on the wheel you will to scratch due to high rpms.Plus when using this type of wheel use it on the edge like if you were going to cut a piece of wood not like a buffing wheel for paint.

paul,I want you to try this product with a small wheel so you can handle it easier and will be messy but you will like the results.Apply a generous amount to a rag apply to your roter then wheel the piss out of it try to keep it wet for a while than stop applying more pollish and let the wheel start drying out the pollish by repeated stokes across the rotor.take a clean soft cloth and rub off exsess.use mothers after to take out any cloudyness or blemmishes.

thanks man ya they do shine up nice, my hats off to charlie for the job he did.I was looking at your intake ealier I believe thats the same one chalie has and they look awesome all pollished up like that changes the whole motor.I didn't realize that paul was trying to polish his callipers i thought he was talking about rims and I see that you have as well man i am falling behind

Here you go. You'll notice you can actually see the camera in most of ther pics. Some of the pics show what the caliper looked like before. I got these from a junk yard and they were really oxidized, and one was painted red so I had to get as much of that off as I could. I cleaned up the brackets and sprayed them with black engine paint. I took an extreme closeup so you could see the very fione scrathes. You can barely notice them until you get as close I did with the camera.

So what polish works better on polished wheels that BILLET polish? If not im using that mothers in the red can...how much do you apply? just enough to cover the metal lightly or do you gob it on pretty good?

91lx,use enough to get an area of about two inches wide and 3 to 6 inches long and work the paste back and forth.I personaly like the latest stuff that mothers has and thats the billet pollish but either one works great.

weenol works great or never dull. have to be careful with the never dull though you rub to hard and it will scratch the wheels

hehehe chaz ! Paul if you ask me, I think those calipers look awesome.The only way to get all the scratches out is to wet sand and then buf with reducing grit compound.I would if i was you and didn't like what I was seeing try to use the speedy like I said earlier.That stuff has a solvent in it that will react to aluminum when applied and then the heat will open the poars and allow the aluminum to actually move and fill , clean poars out and it has a reducing grit that breaks down with repeated motion.If you want use quad zero steel wool to apply first so it isn't so messy then use the machine to work it in.Keep at it until you see the shine come threw.


P.s I think the darn things look good and if you aren't happy with them you can always give them to me...
