I just purchased ponies w/tires off of ebay. I was wandering what the rim itself weighs compared to the current 10 Holes (love them, just wish they were bigger), Turbines, and 93 Cobras. I would also like to know what the largest front brake ( or 2-4 piston ) combo w/ ponies. Last of all, will an 87 with 225/55/16 front, 245/55/16 rear have any clearence issues with new Spring Issolaters and "C" Springs?

I believe the largest brake you can run on a 16" rim is a 12" rotor. The Cobra brakes will not fit for sure. You need 17" wheels for those.

The weight is probably similar.

I don't expect you to have any clearance issues with those widths.

Just a little FYI, the 245/55/16 will probably read a couple MPH faster on your speedometer than you're actually going. With the larger cross section, the aspect ratio should be lower, to keep roughly the same diameter tire (245/50/16). It's not a big deal though, and you may not even notice the difference on your speedometer when driving around town.
