popping sound slamming gears

Popping sound when I really slam the gears like I said. I have a stock t-5 supposed to have brand new synchros and the works. I cant tell if its popping from the transmission or the rear, the rear does need fluid, does that have anything to do with it? Also the trans mount looks a little worn, could that make its pop?

check your u-joints

wut are the u joints?

If it was the tranny mount, you would feel the pop on the transmission tunnel.
The U joints are on the driveshaft connecting to the differential.

ok, the car is not moving now cuz i have the motor out and am doing a turbo, but i will try it when i drive it again. Also, low or no diff fliud, would that cause the pop?

I never heard a diff low on oil pop unless it blew up. If the diff were low on oil I would assume you would hear a whining noise.
