Well I popped a headgasket the other day (a lockwire). I pullied the S-Trim up thinking it would be ok for a lil while untill I had it re-tuned. WRONG! I ran in the 11's on the brakes a few weeks ago making 10-11psi on a 2.95/6.87. Well I'm wanting 10's so I put a 2.75" on....I have a 7" crank that was about to go on as well but the gasket went with just the 2.75. I was only expecting 1-2 psi gain but it spun the S to a nice 17psi :spot: I had the belt crazy tight to. I couldn't feel much diff, the car was breaking loose something fierce. Anyway I got greedy and didn't tune it right off, and now I'm loosing coolant, running hot, and the other typical syptoms.

Anyways...my Edlebrocks are cleaned up but are only a 1.90 head. I was thinking of hogging them out and my intake out OR going to a AFR 185 or maybe a AFR 205. I don't want to do a cam/header swap so I was leaning towards porting my stuff...seems easier and cheaper.

Oh yeah then get it re-tuned...ha ha :bang:

I'd get 'em ported. With mine, there is still much to be ported, and I have the "revised" castings. I'd get a better flowing valve, get a nice 3 or 5-way valve job done and roll the short turns out into the bowls. By the way your car was running, you may be able to run 10's without a port job. You could be deep into the 10's if the heads get done right. The 205's would make some serious horsepower if you wanted to cam the car accordingly, but since you don't, I think the ported Eddys are your best bet.
