I just finished porting my waterpump out and it it works AWESOME!! Has anyone else tried this? I ported the inlet on the inside and polished it up and then took the back plate off and polished up the inside. My engine temps have dropped at least 10 degrees on average.

I didn't even know you could port a water pump. Any potential negatives to doing something like that? I might consider it next time my pump is off.

??? I would really really question this...even a hi flow pump doesn't help lower temps..flow rate is not the issue in cooling, more to do with cross section of the rad and fan.

If you just finished doing it how would you have any reasonable drive time to be able to establish a realistic "average"?

Lets play probability...

probability of a mustang guy actually doing this = 3%

probability of it being someone from another site just trying to see if he can get a bunch of mustang guys to actually port the water pump and then report back to his (insert chevy, or import site here) normal board to make fun of mustang guys = 97%
