I'm new to the site. Already got a few great articles. Can anybody make any suggestions for efficient mods to increase my HP that costs < $300. I'm pretty much factory '01 v6 at this point but I'd like to speed things up a little.

Get a good dual exhaust system installed. This should always be the first v6 mod.(Besides a removed silencer and a drop-in k&n of course)

Other cheap bolt-on Horsepower options is a Cold Air Intake or Underdrive Pulleys...the pulleys are about $250 from ASP and I got a cheap CAI off of E-Bay that works great.

yeah I got a Cold-air off ebay too. I've noticed a jump when I'm on the gas. Looks good sounds even better. If I catch it just right I can make it sound like it's a blow-off valve for a turbo.

Cheap CAI

Get a new length of hose run it from the front connector and either close off the second hole or throw a $10 air breather from wal-mart on it.

A= Air-breather from wal-mart. fits perfectly


B= 90 degree air compressor fitting trimed and bored out (if you need one let me know, and I can make one for you FREE) use some fuel line hose to make up for the short distance on the stock intake hose (intake to crankcase) (you won't need this if it comes with new hoses)


C= the staright fitting will need to be heated in a microwave for a few seconds then quickly attached to the MAF sensor before it converts back to it's original size. It's a bit small and heating it makes it stretch out so you can work it on. but do it quickly.

I think he means is why did you attach all those hoses and stuff? I'd have just put the CAI on and capped off all the holes into the intake.

A T-lok would be one of the first modds I would suggest, also maybe some exhaust, pulleys, and a programmer.

Weight reduction.

You don't really need those bumper supports, do you?
