Just curious if anyone knows anything about these Power+Plus High Performance Street intakes. They claim to out perform Cobra, edelbrock, and trickflow. If thats true cant beat the price or look.

Had one on my old 71 convertible because it was cheaper, but i always wished i had just gotten the edelbrock! There are plenty of people making lots of power with the typhoon.

Well since you have no major mods like heads and cam the Typhoon intake may hurt you not help you. The Typhoon is a replica of the Edelbrock RPM intake wihch flows more than a stock head/cam car will benefit from.

really?? u think it would hurt me? If or when i buy this I was also gonna get there TB and elbow. Still bad news?

The problem is it flows more than the stock heads can handle/benefit from. The E-brock performer, Cobra/GT40/Explorer, Trickflow street heat would be a better choice IMO for a mostly stock motor.

i can tell you first hand its going to make your car feel slower with the RPM version on stock heads/cam, I have the performer rpm on my car now and my car felt like a torque monster before and after that and the 70mm tb it felt like it lost a lotttttttt of torque, but did gain horsepower up top, it pulls real hard but our cam only makes power to about 5500, intake flows to 6500, we cant really make use of it... just go with a performer 5.0, or get the typhoon base + the performer 5.0 upper

What they said.

Just get the edel performer 5.0 or trickflow street heat intake and call it a day.

YES!

TB and Elbow are not power adders!

I got mine put on the same time as the Vortech and other goodies.. I was one of the first ones around here to "take a chance" and buy one...NO PROBS whatsoever! I wanted an Eddy, but with the $$$ for the other stuff, I had to save somewhere, and I got the polished version for $279 on Ebay, b/c they were still new.
