Well, I got a new toy (Powermaster 100 amp alt) via the Big Brown Truck today, and now I can finally use those March pulleys I bought forever ago.

Below is the coolness. :D ;)

I know they cost a lot, but let me tell you, these things look outstanding, and they FIT awesome. The company is also top rate to order from. Customer service is the best i have ever dealt with.

Anyway, just had to share.

The alternator looks like it's too high. Kinda saying HI!! I'm a big black alternator when you pop your hood.

I would prefer to have it down low so the engine can glisten with all it's beuty.

Do like how it loads the belt though. Sure beats the original stuff.

I know!! When I was installing it, I thought..."crap that looks weird" but it's growing on me, and I have yet to install the power steering pump, so that will balance it out a bit.

what part number is that kit?

You'll want 30320 for the kit with the power steering pump, or kit number 30310 with just the Alt.

That looks awesome. :nice:

That's a V-belt set up right? Also, did the alternator mounting brackets come with that kit as well? if not, where did you get those?

No it's the serpentine setup, and every bracket you see holding that alternator up is from March. It all came in the kit.

So the alternator is supposed to be high up like that. I was starting to wonder.

Your engine looks outstanding gp001! Someday we gotta get together...check out my bands site, cause we are going ot be playing in So Cal soon.

Peace

Now...how did you get that pulley off? The instructions say to use an impact wrench but I think the bolt is on too tight. Was yours tough to remove?

no...since I was never going to use the pulley that came with my alt...I placed the pulley in the vise, and snugged it up good. Then I just used a 1/2" drive ratchet with a 15/16's socket, and it just came off.

I didn't want to fire up the compressor over one bolt. I will however use the impact to do the final tightening of the March nut.

I used one of those rubber strap wrenches to hold the pulley without damaging it and then used the impact gun

Thanks for the compliment! I'll have to try to check out your band. I remember downloading some songs off your site a while back.
