I bought and just got my CAI in the mail. Good news right? WRONG. Here is the one I bought: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...=7970217479&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT&rd=1
Looks ok, but once I got it I found that the upper pipe is WAY too short and doesnt bend enough. Also, the holes in the pipe are in the wrong places. This intake looks like its for a 99+. Mine is a 94 btw. Any thoughts? I emailed the guy and told him I wanted to return it and get shipping back too. So we'll see how much I gotta fight. Let me know if you agree that it looks like the wrong one for a 94.

Thanks!

Well if it don't fit it ain't the right one. Here's the one you need and it sure doesn't look like the one you got. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=38634&item=7971755529&rd=1

Sorry have the hassel to go through but sounds the seller misrepresented their product so shouldn't ne a problem exchanging or with refund. Doesn't eBay have rules against doing stuff like that?

Anyway, I have a 96 3.8 V6 116K miles and runs like a champ. Do those CAI's do that much to help performance and do they help gas mileage? Mine stick shift rag top and it gets 20 mpg in town but I don't dog it very much.

Ebay CAI's are a hit and miss thing from what I've seen. My upper pipe was way to long and didn't bend enough. I had to cut it to make it fit and it still rubs up against the sidewall! Maybe they didn't misrepresent on purpose and can send you the correct one in return for the one you have now.

I just bought a CAI off ebay as well, but it hasn't shown up yet....I was just curious, does anyone know if you have to re-calibrate the fuel to air ratio at all after you put one of these in? I was just reading about it a little bit and that was a subject, just curious if it is totally true or not? Thanks for any information you can give me!

Usually adding intakes/exhaust tends to make the car run slightly richer. Only way to "fix" it is to chip it and/or have it tuned. It's hardly an issue to worry about unless you already have a handheld tuner or plan on buying one.
