Problem with my new Pro-Motion clutch setup *pic*

So I got a new clutch setup from promotionpowertrain.com and put it in with no problems. Everytime I start the car the clutch feels smooth and fine, until about 20 min later it begins to chatter quite a bit from take off. With 120 miles on it already it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Talked to Walt and he told me that oil is contaminating the clutch which seems legit but I don't have any oil leaks ANYWHERE! Back of the VC gaskets, dry! Back of the intake near pcv valve, dry! Rear main seal, dry!

I even made sure to take my time and keep everything as clean as I could. Used paper towels and brake cleaner to clean flywheel and PP. Torqued everything down right. Installed new pivot ball, fork, and T/O bearing.

Anyone know why my new clutch setup is already giving me problems? Walt told me this setup is not known to be chattery.

In this pic you can see how nothing is oil soaked around the area's i mentioned.

How did you have your flywheel resurfaced? I was told to use a lapping stone style surfacer instead of a more traditional brake lathe type...Also its real important to follow the 500 mile break in to a T. Try you hardest not to get on it. good luck man

yea I have no problem breaking it in for 500 miles. It's actually my daily driver when i'm home from school. I'm not exactly sure which way it was resurfaced, I got it done at NAPA. The surface was a circular pattern if that helps? I also never had a problem with my old king cobra doing everything the same.

I've been beating on my promotion clutch set up since day one. It saw 5000 rpm before it had 2 miles on it :)

Anyway, try taking the pp off and check it out a bit more. Maybe the flywheel is warped? Maybe the pp bolts are loose? Just throwing out idea's. Like I said, I have the same clutch combo except it looks like you have the blueprinted KC pp and I have the blueprinted HD pp. Fwiw, the HD will handle more power and higher rpm's. Good luck.

All those things coule be possible, I'm using a centerforce billet steel flywheel which was resurfaced so it should be flat. It's weird in the fact it only happens when the car is run for more than 20-25 min. Initial startup and 15-20 after it's still nice and smooth. As of right now I'm just going to put more miles on it and go to the track and see what happens. If it goes, a 26 spline king cobra setup will take its place, never had a problem with one of those and seem like the best clutch i've ever used.

Not sure if the flywheel was rebalanced after resurfacing. I will call and ask them these questions during the week though. I appreciate your attempt to try and help!

If I ever get time I think I might end up pulling it back out even though I dread the thought of doing so.
