Weird problem i just got my powersteering pump in its brand new i think it took a dump on me at idle car standing still i try to turn the wheel each way and it wont turn at all if i tap the gas it turns very easy anyone every have this problem? Im a week away from getting my suspension done and want to resolve this. Thanks in advance

Did it come with a different pulley or is this with your pulley on it?

It does sound like the pump is not spinning fast enough to build adequate pressure. This could be from wrong idle set-point, wrong pulley diameter for the pump, underdrive pulleys, or even jsut junk in the system making the pressure it does build inadequate.

If it was OK when first installed and since the old one failed I would do what I could to flush the system... $10 worth of ATF can save a whole lotta trouble...

I flush mine every 6-10k miles since mine (like msot of yours) have HORRID looking and smelling fluid in it. Each time it gets just a little bit better...

My buddy installed it who i know he knows what he is doing the idle thing i dont know if my idle is set right could this be the problem the thing with this is my rpm gauge does not work but it seems like its idle is good my same pulley is on it and i dont have underdrive pulleys. Also my other buddy said there is a switch in the line that bumps the idle or something he is a ford tech i dont know what this is and if there is i have not replaced it.
