5.0 Mustang & Super Fords did an article, about 8 pages long, flowing all intakes That was the result. Yes it is a copy of the RPM design but either the runners are longer or ports are larger; all I can tell you is that it flows more. That's all that matters, really.

As far as being too much, it depends on what you want to do with the car. If you have future engnie mods planned, get it and wait for it all to work together. You won't LOSE power by putting it on an otherwise-stock engine, but you won't see 100% of its potential while it's working with a stock engine. When I put it on my car, it was otherwise-stock, and I felt a huge difference.

The 70mm TB may be overkill, though, the stock flows well enough to feed the intake. If you plan on a blower, heads, etc., keep it around and put it on at that point.

I do think about it every day. Performance parts, tools, food and cars are about the only things that I can think of that are made in the USA. If I had a reasonable USA made alternative for the electronic devices I would take it. I think it is a good idea that edelbrock makes all of their intake products here. When you are unemployed and cant find a job, there might be a different story to tell if there was more manufacturing here.

Think about it.

Hey I got one of those Typhoons on my LX, put it on at the same time as a BBK 75mm TB and spacer... bought mine off ebay new for about 350 shipped. it wasnt perfect when I got it... so I had to do a lot of work to hog it out to match the TB, id go with a 70mm it would definitely fit better. the runners look pretty ****ty so I spent a couple days total polishing all the runners and the plenum to flow better and opened up one of the runners near the port where there is a pretty bad kink, but it was worth it cuz I almost saved enough by buying it to get the TB! Call it a 2 for one deal. as for being made in china, sure it aint as good as the US stuff, but its just a cast piece of aluminum, not a set of heads or a cam that needs to be perfect to work right.
And it made a BIG difference in power even though my long block is all stock, although THrottle response is lower compared to stock. IT does rub my hood a bit at the plenum, but its not a big deal... but watch the crankcase breather tube on the TB, I put a small dent in my hood cuz it sits a little too high so I had to bend it down a bit. other than that it works great. oh, add some fuel pressure too so it doesnt lean out over 4000 rpms with the stock injectors.
 
I replaced the RPM with the typhoon on my original stock longblock, I do think it's a great peice though still may be too much for a stock setup, you'lll loose velocity down low, but will gain it up top where its designed to live. I would not go bigger than 65mm TB.

Ive got one along with their EGR plate and TB and everything was fine , only casting flash I found was on the outside around the runners , no big deal though since you can see them with the upper intake bolted down anyway .... works great , great product for the $$$
 
you won't lose any low end torque.i've got mine with a 70mm edelbrock tb and spacer with a b-303 cam.my motor isn't a ho plus it has e6 heads.it has great throttle response plus it'll give you a good seat of the pants feel over stock.you made a great purchase,enjoy it.i put mine on out of the box,no port cleaning.you may have hood clearance problems,i had to very lightly trim a small brace away from my hood,if you use convertible motor mounts you might not have this problem at all.

I'm all about the american job market, product market, and supporting out country. I sucks that so many comanies sell out to Chin etc. for a cheaper labor. It totally sucks, then the same people bitch about the job rate being so low when they are the blame. IBM just did it. An americam based company sold trier PC department China. Whats going on here. :mad:
 
I've had one for some time.
I'm not sure what some of you guys are talking about though. If you put this intake (or an edelbrock RPM for that matter) on stock heads you are going to lose some low end torque and quite a bit of flow velocity. Look at the difference between the ports on the lower and on a set of E7's. there is a big damning effect going on there.
If you plan on porting the snot out of the stock heads or swaping out to Eddy's or AFR's or something like that It's going to work great, or some form of forced induction It's also going to work well. It is a great intake for a centifugal blower because it builds HP up high just like the blower.
My heads are ported but not "port matched" to the intake and I noticed a loss of low end. But, it will keep pulling right up to my 6,800 RPM rev limiter.
