Proform took a crap today (my fault)... Bought a 3.8 Taurus fan.. Questions on wiring

I plugged the damn ground wire into the manual switch receptical, and it smoked... So now it doesn't work with the thermo... only when the a/c is on. So I'll just keep the a/c on. I just bought a 3.8 Taurus fan to replace it on Ebay... For 50 bucks. Now I know it has a two speed setting.. I'm gunna run dual 30 amp relays (I think this is enough) for the low and high speed. Now how to do you wire a dual speed fan? One + wire from one relay goes to the low speed, then another to the high speed side??? Do BOTH wires have to have power to click it into high speed??? Thanks a bunch... Looking forward to having the extra cool capacity in the FL summer heat and my newly fixed A/C... with a busted drivers side window... LOL... My dad said it well... "Spend all that money to get your a/c fixed and now you don't have a window to roll up... That SUCKS" lol.

One wire is for high, one for low. High and low will fight each other if energized at the same time.

I have the same fan proform. Couldnt you just have wired up a manual switch for it?

Ok... So how do I wire this then??? Obviously two seperate relays... but is 30 amps ok for each? And do you use them together? Or seperate? I was planning on just having the low speed come on all the time, when the car is on... but then have a switch inside for the high speed.. and if I need it... just flip the switch....?? How do I wire this up do control it this way? Thanks a bunch.

I could have.. if I didn't put the damn ground into that post, and burn up the controller. I did hook it up that way.. from the positive coil (that comes on with the car), and I started it up.. and the car went fuggin' HAYWIRE!! The tach stopped working and the car stumbled.. I turned off the car quick... I'm figuring that I just burned up the controller... so when my Taurus comes in... I'm gunna buy a new controller, and replace it.. and sell it.

Run one 75a relay. Use a lighted switch inside the car to turn it on. Use 10G wires for the fan connections and relay power. Use a 14G fuseable link in between the battery and the + terminal on the relay. The relay part number is 0 332 002 156 and you can order it from http://www.bpg-inc.com/bpghome.html

k... I've searched on the internet, and found I should use the 75 AMP one, and to just use the high speed setting. That's fine, but I need the relay quicker then ordering online. Doesn't Radio Shack carry these relays?? I'm planning on doing this Sunday. I'm also gunna try and use some sort of controller from Autozone or what not. To keep it thermostatically controlled, and not just on all the time... And a DC Controller isn't in my budget right now, after spending the money on the window and a/c repairs. Thanks

Thanks.. but I've heard the high side pulls 40+ amps at constant flow, which a 30 amp relay wouldn't hold up to too long.
