Progress pics of my light titanium notch

Yeah...theres a red top goin in the car. I've used one for over a year now in my Merkur XR4Ti. No issues with that one yet.

And yeah...I'm using the Maximum Grip box in my car. I'm not sure if I'm more excited to see how fast it goes in a straight line or around corners :D

Wow, you got a steal on that car. It looks like it is in great shape! I my notch was bad. Wrecked in the front and beat up all over. I paid $275 for mine. The parts car cost me way more, but now I have a car that people have offered 7,000-8,000 dollars for, and I tell them no. I will not sell it for less than 10,000....if someone offers me that much....people around here are crazy for those cars, I can't leave it sit in a parking lot, or it will be gone....and it is all stock...well...mostly. It looks like you are going all out on yours...Nice job!!!

Well...here's another update...this one really should be the last one before it's running...just thought I'd show a shot of my JLT power pipe. It's definately not made for a Box R intake. I had to change the way the pipe comes off the throttle body for hood clearance reasons.

sorry for the crappy camera phone pic...should have a better one after it's running.

Well...no luck on getting the car running this weekend...It's pretty well all ready to go except for a couple stupid little -AN fittings!! I gotta wait til Monday for the parts store that sells them to open up again, so I'm hooped for now.

Well...I got a bit of work done on the car the last few weeks...got it running and driving finally :D Here's a link to a video of it...

I got it idling better now, but it's still not GREAT, due to the lack of a IAC valve. Once the car warms up it idles good though. Now I just need a complete exhaust system for it :rlaugh:

Anyway...Tonight I decided to tackle the issue of modifying my hood! I think I'm gonna have to use a metal hood on my car, unless I can get a custom fiberglass one made. a 3 or 4" cowl won't clear my cold air intake unfortunately. God damn thing is massive. :(

So here it is. I took pics of it from start to finish.

Heres the hood before the carnage :rlaugh:

Here's a couple after I got the hole laid out. I took all the measurements from the engine bay and made a little blue print.

And there it is test fitted on the car.

Tomorrow I'll paint it I think and bolt it on to the car. I'm thinkin I'll put some rubber kinda stuff around the edges to make sure theres nothing sharp and maybe make it look a little better.

I'm not much good with fiberglass, so this will do for now. I'll probly do something a little more pretty a little later down the road. A regular cowl definately won't fit though, or I would have gotten one. And no, it shouldn't hit the hood when it torques. I left enough clearance that it should be fine, especially with the eurethane mounts.

Alright, well here's some pics of the hood now that it's finished up. Got it painted flat black. I drove it in the alley a bit, thats why the hood looks so god damn dusty :nonono:

Anyway...what do you guys think of it? That's pretty well what the car is gonna look like this season. Over the winter I'll try and find a place that can maybe make a fiberglass hood for it.
