Rubber on the trans mount. Need some give somewhere otherwise the vibration will drive you nuts. Are you running a rubber trans mount, or poly on that also?
I’m sure the rear main will show it’s face again...... but we’ll take care of that at some point!Looking good especially if your done with oil leaks. Quite impressive thick paint.

Looks sharp! I wish I would've gone over mine with a gloss be flat.K member mostly painted. The underside needs a little more but I ran out of paint!
And once I get another pair of hands to help lift this, I can get my workbench back!
I definitely had trouble with these welds, but I think I have it solid enough to work!
Now I need to gut it, put the plug in, and clean it up some more. I’m happy about keeping my low fluid sensor!

Here’s the new (to me) ride.
Now to get the ‘02 back in tip top shape.

Thanks man! I was dead set on that color, which kind of pigeon holed me while looking, but found this one with only 19k miles.NIce color on the new rig. Definitely one of my favorites.
Hopefully I made the right move!

I'm sure it will be fine once your wife(?) puts the 'stuff' in it.Interesting!
Let’s get off the bowl and back on topic:
Got the rest of my brake lines. Once installed, I’ll have 100% brand new brake lines in the car!!

Starting to get the lines mocked up! I like being at the point where parts are just going on, and nothing else is coming off right now!
Now it’s just a matter of budget and getting the rest of the parts I need!

And for what it’s worth, I love my new ‘18 f150 ecoboost. I’ll admit, it’s easier to like, knowing my ‘02, 5.4L is staying in the family for now. They are two completely different vehicles, that’s for sure!
Its got the 2.7. Wasn’t my first choice in engines, but the condition and mileage were something I couldn’t pass up, so I compromised.Did you go with the 2.7 or 3.5?
I got a sheet of 1/8” fiberboard/ melamine off of a pallet of product at work that was being used as a slip sheet.
Made myself a cardboard template, and made a new spare tire cover for the hatch area.
Previously there was 3/4” plywood covering the entire trunk area, so in addition to looking more original, I shaved a bunch of weight. Pretty happy about a nice free upgrade! I’ll get some pics next time out to the garage.

Anyway, had a few minutes and installed my hood to firewall seal from LMR. Seems like a nice piece and went on pretty easy!
Tonight in an attempt to feel like I’m still making progress, as well as making the stockpile of parts in the bedroom smaller....... I now have a fully dressed rear end.
Now I really need to get it off the workbench!!
