Spoiler alert: IDGAF what anyone says, a Mullet has never been, isn't currently, nor will ever be "in style" period end of discussion. When I was like 5ish growing up in Oklahoma in the 80's, I grew a "rat tail" and unfortunately there are pictures. It wasn't ok then, and it's not ok now, but it's better than the Mullet.

Rat tail vs. Mullet………….. now that is a serious debate to be had over a case of PBR’s while sitting on the tailgate of a pick up truck!

So I shifted gears a little in anticipation of car show season, and picked up a Scott Rod front radiator panel. I also have some Redline hood struts on the way from LMR.

I love the look of these panels, but really hate the idea of the rivets. I rather it be removable a lot easier than drilling out rivets. Are there any other options that would still look good, but make removal easier. I’ve seen the plastic removable rivets, but I’m not sure that’s the way to go either.

Hope you get it to fit, I fought with mine and ended up trashing it. Hood would never latch, not sure if it was something specific to my car but drove me nuts.
Good luck!

i've seen on facebook groups that someone used the fancy aftermarket hex fender bolts to secure their cover and it looks slick

Def didn’t rivet the gap cover. I used some small black screws so I can take it off easier. I like the idea behind those hex bolts but seems they would stick out to far. I used the screws so they would be flat and flush. I did rivet the fender aprons though for now.

Looks Great! I couldn't get mine to line up in the hood latch area and had an interference issue. Not sure it being a convertible had anything to do with it, but would've been nice to use it.

As @derek1993 predicted, this is not as straightforward as it looks. No doubt due to the aero conversion done long ago, and what I believe is a replacement core support.
Where it needs to sit up against the core support, it doesnt have the “reach” to make that right angle down in front of the grill. But when you get the front to fit, the hood won’t close. This will be a test of my patience…….. but I’ll get it!
I also decided on some little black button screws instead of the rivets……. Which is also helping in my “back and forth” in the fitment.

Before I started messing with this, I removed my headlights and painted the backs of the housing. The black blends in nicer IMO.

Looks awesome! Any tips on cutting out the little squares for the hood bumpers?

What was the issue just not being able to close the hood? I did have to trim mine some in the latch area bc it was catching and was hitting some. Once I could see where it was hitting I trimmed it and then had no issues.

Thanks and I like the idea of painting the housing of the headlights. As for the squares I just lined them up and then marked, drilled a hole and then from the I made small square cut with my dremel and made it bigger slowly until it fit around it. I was disappointed that these were obviously fab’d for our cars but it wasn’t a legit bolt in. I had to trim some of the bumper gap panel, same with the fender aprons. Tested fitted time after time till it was right, then I just had them powder coated for now until I get the engine bay repainted.

Rdub described it exactly. If I had it flush against the core support it would pull the down piece by the grill at an angle. Or if left off the lip it would sit better (still had a closing issue) but then had a gap..
