It seems like it is taking forever, but finally I have the passenger side front sub-frame rail fitted up and temporarily bolted in place.
I say temporarily, because there is just a wee bit of trimming to do, and the areas that will be covered once I weld it up need to be POR-15'ed first. :p
I also need to clean the rest of the rat's nest out of the remainder of the sub-frame, and weld a nut to the new section where the front cross member bolts up.
:spot:
I have pictures of the progress, just haven't downloaded them or re-sized them yet.....have to go get cleaned up for my cousin's Prenup BBQ this evening. Won't get anything done tomorrow as there's this little wedding thingy I'm supposed to be going to..............
btw........Where is the sweaty exhausted guy smilie?

I've got everything trimmed, POR15-ed and bolted up and ready to start welding.................and wouldn't you know it, here come the t-storms! :(
Anyway, I should have the passenger side completed by Sunday evening as long as the weather is half-way decent!

As Promised.....PICS!!!.......:
Surgery begins.........

Please keep it east of your border with California. We had enough rain this year.

Bullllllllllllllllll-hockey!

I'll be stealthily (Yeah, sure. stealthilywith three trucks and an Aerostar full of Boy Scouts  ) sneaking into SD county Sunday morning for a week of Summer Camp; and I wouldn't mind a little rain! Two years ago, three days after we left; the Camp was evacuated when that fire came down from SB county and burnt a couple of the campsites before they got it stopped. Last year, a fire started outside the other Boy Scout camp southwest of Warner Springs and started heading our way while we were there  Conventional wisdom had it that Lost Valley was now 'safe'; because all the paths a fire could take towards it were now burnt black. Nope. With all the rains this winter, followed by the last couple of scorching months; the black areas were all full of lush grass, which is now tinder-dry and brown. A good rain (no gully-washers) every ten days or so just might keep any idiots from threatening to burn down my Valley; thank you very much!

Damn. You're gonna be here in the Sandy Ego with me?

Not exactly..... while I will be in San Diego County (And only then if I stay south of the Camp's lake!); I will be pretty much as far away from the City of San Diego as we can be and still remain in San Diego County! Off in the hills NNW of Warner Springs Ranch.

I'm not in the city either. My lodging is in Carlsbad which is just south of Oceanside (better known in these parts as O-side). We're approximately 10 minutes south of Camp Pendleton and a good 20 minutes from the airfield.

The area I'm in is definitely Sandy Ego county, but the area is known as the North county area.

I'll be about 58 air-miles from O-side on a bearing of about 89* true. Just looked at Mapquest...... If you were to head out of O-side going NE through Bonsall to Temecula, then head East out of Temecula on Hwy 79, you'd eventually get to Warner Springs Ranch; the little resort/golfcourse/gliderport-community just West of where I'll be. That's a 67+ road mile drive. Another 23 road miles back around the mountain range to the Scout Camp; the last 11 miles of which is a winding dirt road back into the middle of the range - avg speed on the dirt is about 15 MPH; it's that narrow, winding, loaded with switchbacks and just plain rough. Several tomes call the dirt road a "Four Wheel Drive Trail"; but I've seen Saab's, Volvo's and Beemer's negotiating the road - although the drivers usually stop in one of the THREE places that actually get cell-phone coverage and call back to "The O.C." to make appointments with their alignment shops and chiropractors

Looks like you really have your hands full at the moment! Good luck with the progress. Mine is still occupying the garage, but as I continue to wade through all the backorders, I am reaching the point where I will have all the parts I need to get it back on the ground.

ya....except it's been raining here the last two days, and I have this odd aversion to playing with electrical tools in the rain.............
