Progress?

ya....except it's been raining here the last two days, and I have this odd aversion to playing with electrical tools in the rain.............

Please keep the rain to yourself, I have taken the next week off to put Eleanor back into (mostly) one piece, and need to put the 00 out of the garage to do the work. And I HATE waterspots....

Right now I'm trying to make my arms feel a little less like jello after using the grinder/wire wheel for about an hour removing all the old hard adhesive (the stuff that sticks up the headliner insulation) & some rust from the roof. Husband should be home soon, he'll prolly take over the grinder for the rest of the day, gotta knock down all the welds before seam sealing & paint (woo-hoo, seam sealing, that'll be fun!).

Looks like you're making good progress there too. :nice:

You have a garage and you're complaining about a few waterspots?:nonono:

Thanks! This AM was sunny (finally after three days!) and I managed to get a couple of tack welds in.........Now it's time for sleep, gotta work tonight, but I'm off the next two days, sooooo......................:nice:

BTW.......EVERYONE HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY 4th of JULY HOLIDAY WEEKEND!

What scared of a little water with your trons? Now ask yourself, what would the GBM do?

POR15 WILL Burn!

I discovered that little tidbit as I was welding this AM. I had POR15-ed a little too close to my intended weld area and the stuff burned off! It's okay, it is an area I had planned to POR15 once I was done welding..........

Speaking of which.........except for the welds on the bottom side (bracket mount points), the new passenger side subframe box is in! Tomorrow AM I'll do the underside bracket mounts, then POR15 the interior of the box before I weld the new outer skin into place!

Next will be the driver's side.............. :nice:

It's getting there....slow but sure, I'm in the process of "closing up" the passenger side surgery......haven't been able to do much in the last two days, again it's been too wet!:p
However I do have the outer skin tacked in place, I just have to finish weld it and smooth done the seams a little before I get to the driver's side.

Surgery Commences!

Surgery commenced this morning on the drivers front subframe. First tool to come into play was a distant "cousin" of the surgical laser.......a closer relation to a plasma cutter..............the good ol' oxy-acetylene torch! :nice:
I was able to get done in 4 hours today what took me a week on the passenger side......then I ran out of gas.....literally!
Tomorrow I will get the tanks refilled, I also have to pick up some more cut-off wheels and grinding discs for my angle grinder and blades for my sawzall, then I will get back on removing the last bits of the "cancer". :spot:
I've got plenty of pics....just haven't been able to download them yet.......computer is acting funky.

My computer is on the fritz (NO RELATION!) and until I can back-up the photos I've already got, I don't want to download anymore............:(

and no, the rain hasn't stopped me, but my landlord has me a little side tracked with some landscaping he wants done..............:(
