Project 88 LX Vert......Im In Deep...

My carpet was in about the same condition... and it was black, so you can imagine how bad it looked. I used dilluted simple green, and put it on pretty thick. tossed it in the bed of my truck, drove to the local car wash, and power washed the hell out of it.. i ended up having to powerwash it for about 10 minutes straight.. the dirt wouldnt stop coming out.

in a rust prevention primer... slowly getting there.....

rear.webp

That primer aint gonna do anything over that rust. I would have taken the rear out for that project and just POR15 it. That spray bomb stuff isnt gonna do much.

yeah it will...we used it on my dads 86....2 years ans counting....its holding up just great..yeah but this will be a DD so no need for it to be all show....just cleaning it up a little...

btw i still cant tell what gear is in it...i know its stock but i think its got a 3.08

thats the truth.. you change the oil? pull the drums off and check em out and the pads..

yup...the gear oil was fine...no metal shavings or anything...looked pretty good...posi seems to be in good shape....we will find out when we get it running :D

yeah and the brakes are fine...just need to repalce a line that went....

while you've got it on stands, put a mark (tape or somethin) on the driveshaft. rotate the rear tires slowly and carefully count the number of times the mark goes around. ~2.75 times = 2.73 gears....~3 times =3.08 gears....~3.75 times = 3.73s....you get the hint. at least this is how i think you do it.

btw i'm digging the progress thread...more of you guys should have these!!!!!! i get so bored sometimes!! its really nice to just look at what you guys are doing.

and i'm not just talking a one post deal, i want CONSTANT updates like ryan. cause god knows he's going to post every little thing he does cause he's so excited! :D

ill post just about everything i do :SNSign:

:flag: very...cant wait for it to be ready to drive..trying to get it running and driving by the 20th...i get my temps on the 21st...:D this should get it running...all that's left is to fix the brake line which will be a quick fix but im sure after i bend up a new line and get that in i will bled them and then a different like will go...hey..part of the game....

ill try that in the morning to see what gear it is...

btw...you live in columbus right?

If you end up POR15'ing your rear end (which i recommend also), make sure you dont accidentally get it on your jackstands... they dont like to adjust much after the stuff has dried in there. Ask me how i know

Look on the door tag. You will see "AX" with a letter or number under them. That is the axle code. Post it up here and I'll tell you what gears you have. Assuming its stock theres no reason to go through the hassle of counting drive shaft revolutions and what not.

Right, the code on the door tag will tell you exactly what gear you have, assuming its stock. Z is your 3.08. Man, thats gonna be nice. Where'd all those people go that said you got ripped, Ryan? Probably still trying to match their primer, I'm guessing. Big show this weekend. Looks good!:nice:

its coming along slowly....this weekend the tank will go back in...

ill check that code after school.

and for the other guys...idk...maybe working on there projects...or surfing stangnet...
