Guys, I need to finish my disc brake swap, and its killing me to not
be able to. I need a 78-79 ish Granada proportioning valve. The one
my swap came with wont work, because it is missing pieces.

Help.

Someone on here has to know where I can get one of these things at
a reasonable price.

HELP ME PLEASE.

Thanks.

If a prop valve like that is used, is the distribution block still needed? Does this valve contain a check valve if there is a loss of pressure in the front or rear brake lines?

I don't have that exact proportioning valve, but the design looks to be simmilar to mine. The line from the larger resovoir on my MC goes to a distribution block which splits it out into lines for the driver and passenger side front brakes. The line from the smaller resovoir goes to the proportioning valve, to a pressure gague, then to the line to the rear drums.

No idea about the check valve.

I would second Opentracker's recommendation. When I did the Granada swap, I used a Granada proportioning valve. Well, it's close, but at the limit my back tires lock first. :notnice: Not good.

The adjustable valve will always work, no matter what future brake mods you decide to do, or if you put in a bigger engine, put the battery in the back... any weight distribution changes the brakes can be optimized once again. It's a pretty useful thing to have, IMO. :)

That's the one I have too. Mine came with the Baer kit, is marked "Baer" but it's a Wilwood valve.

I bypassed my distribution block when I did the rear line; now the rear brake line goes from the MC, through the prop valve (mounted on the firewall), and to the rear brakes.

You'll get a brake fault in the instrument panel, but that can be eliminated by unplugging the sensor on top of the dist block. I left the ports on the dist block open, with the lines for the front brakes in place, and I've had no leaks or problems.
