I bought my 04 GT about a month ago from Carmax. I took it in to service on Monday because it had a couple of issues (popping from steering, air coming from floor vent even when HVAC off, and the rear defroster didn't work).

I figured the 30-day Carmax warranty that comes with all cars purchased from them was BS, but i'm pretty impressed. They didn't try to say that they didn't hear the noise or couldn't duplicate the problem.

They ended up replacing the steering rack, A/C blend door/evap core housing, and replaced the rear glass. 1,000$ worth of work and 12 hours of labor for 0$.

Got a loaner car for 3 days with free gas, didn't have to fill the tank up.

Glad that worked out good for you. I have heard some good things about carmax from a few folks who have bought from them.

They have good service - bad trade in return, and way high prices.

The prices they charge it should be a 10 year warranty...

I found an 01 cobra at carmax here in KS w/ 41000 miles on the clock. They wanted 21,000 for it and weren't willing to at least charge me BOOK on it- I left feeling angry.

exactly...which is how it should be...i get tired of hearing people pay nothing for something and then whine about there being no service to take care of their issue.

You get what you pay for...do you want cheap? or do you want service?

A $20,000+ item shouldn't have issues for many years...period.
