I need to purchase a full set of 30# Fuel Injectors.

As I look at the cost of New v.s. Used, the difference is huge.

What are the shortcomings/problems to buying used Fuel injectors ?

And, can an injector be tested prior to installation ?

Thanks in advance.

I've got a set of FRPP 30#'s for sale along with a pro-m 75mm bullet.

I'm stepping up to 42's. The injectors have only 2500 miles on them. The mass air looks brand new. 325.00 shipped obo for both.

Problems with buying used...You never know what you're getting. They could be brand new take off's or they could be freshly cleaned injectors from the trashcan at a dealership. I would buy from somebody who is reputable on here or various forums for selling good parts or from somebody on E-bay with great feedback.

Can you test them? Yes, you can make sure they work by using a 9V battery and spare pigtail. You can also have them cleaned and flow matched, but by that time you may as well buy a new set. You may also try hitting the junkyard and find a couple sets of injectors. You can usually pick them up pretty cheap. Conveniently they fit easily in pockets or tool boxes too if you buy something else...

Pros: Cheaper and potentially work just fine, just buy from someone credible.

Cons: May not work, but get them flow tested at your local auto parts store, like Napa IIRC.

Yeah, I thought (a couple years back) that a user here said he got his injectors flowtested at his local Napa...some are bigger, some are smaller.

My Napa even has a machine shop that builds engines...

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.
