Pull engine & trans together or just engine?

Engine swap - pull by itself or together with trans (manual)

I'm getting ready to pull the 4.6 out of my kids 03 for a long block swap. TR3650 trans.

I'm planning on pulling the trans and engine together unless there are recommendations to pull the engine by itself. I'm a little worried about trying to line up the input shaft from a fixed transmission into the clutch when putting things back together. Wiggling the engine around just doesn't sound like an easy project. I've pulled lots of engines over the years, but very few with manual transmissions.

Thoughts?

Pull both together. I find it easiest to have car (all 4 corners) up on jack stands as tall as you can get it, unbolt/loosen/disconnect everything. Then when the cherry picker is hooked up and ready to yank the engine, drop the front end back down on the tire/ground to help clear the front Rad support. This helps not hit the limits of the cherry picker height and then have to either scratch the hell out of the core support or wrestle the engine over it.

Auto's or manuals come out just as easily as each other. No real diff other then weight so make sure your chain and bolt points are up to the task.
