Well, I went home this weekend to celebrate the ol' 21st birthday, and after about 6 hours of driving I decided to speed things up a bit. About 20 minutes from my house I got pulled over.
Officer: License, registration, and insurance
I hand it to him
Officer: so do you know what the speed limit is?
Me: 55
Officer: do you know how fast you were going?
Me: 55
Officer: no, guess again
Me: I honestly don't know sir
Officer: try 136
Me: (cringing)
Officer: I'll be back
(I wait 15 minutes and he comes back)
Officer: so where you in such a hurry to?
Me: Going to party with some friends for my birthday
Officer: alright, well roll up your window
Me: ok
Officer: well this is illegal window tint, do you know that?
Me: yes
Officer: you're insurance and registration are about to run out in 15 minutes since it's almost midnight, but I'm sure you know that.
Me: yes
Officer: well wherever you're headed I guess you didn't make it huh?
Me: guess not
Officer: well it's your lucky day, get the hell out of here
Me: (getting the hell out of there)

yea, I know that wasn't a tech post, but I had to share it.

One thing I want to ask... why in hell were you going 136??? Thats just asking for trouble in more ways than one. Good thing you got a nice cop on that one... I'd be sitting in jail right now if that was me.

yea he was extremely nice. The only reason I was going that fast was because of the 6 hour drive and me wanting to get home in a hurry. Trust me, it won't ever be happening again!!! :nonono: The next day I got the car inspected, found the new registration, put that sticker on, waxed the car, took some pictures, and went to church.

my friend told me of this 16 year he knows that was leaving a party on friday night and was pulled over in a construction zone doing 135.....well.....double the fine for a construction zone and ol' boy was going 200 mph over the posted speed limit....cops escorted him home and told his folks that they can handle it or the law can (if the law did, he wouldn't see his liscense until he was 21)....folks took care of it but it made me think when i read this

i got pulled over one night on the way to my girlfriend's house....she lives off this dam straight road that nobody is ever on at night well apparently there was a cop following me that i didnt notice and when i merged onto that road and opened it up a little he heard and saw...well he followed me into her driveway (never turned on his lights) i got out of the car(still not knowing there was a cop behind me :bang: ) and he was like, "goin a little fast there huh?" and i said "I honestly wasnt paying attention to my speed sir, didnt think i was going that fast." He looks at me and says "Dont lie, you knew you were speeding, you have a nice car and want to open it up everyonce and awhile, and thats ok, just be careful" i said "yes sir, thank you" and proceeded into my gf's house....

get this...when i was 15 i had my permit. i drove my dads stang to school bc i missed the bus. this guy that lived 2 streets over was a sheriff in my county. i cut someone off so he could pass me and he pulled me over. i was freaking out. i had no license or anything. i asked him "hey, do you own that beautiful cobra" and he was like "yep, its a 95 with 55k on it" and i acted like that was the craziest thing in the world (trust me, i was impressed, but not THAT impressed). he was like "we are mustang guys, so get your ass to school." i went to school and took a dump of fear in those disgusting bathrooms. :notnice:

Man you got lucky. I got pulled over in wisconsin for doing 99mph in a 65. Keep in mind I still had my v6. Arrested on the spot.

You got really lucky.

And youve got a PM for the ongoing issue with John.

Wisconsin cops dont like people that live in illinois. Plus its a fellony for going 25 over in wisconsin. They take you to jail when you dont have the $315 on the spot. And whoever comes to get you out of jail has to have exactly $315 cash. Owell. I got out of it because there is laws regarding the arrest of a minor(16yo.)
