Don't bother emailing edelbrock for tech questions because they won't tell you jack-shiit. I have cam with 544lift and 236duration with 1.7 rockers. What heads can I run with PV clearance. I wanted AFRs but the budget can't handle it. Any ideas? Who runs like and F cam with 1.7 rockers? I have a Lunati but the numbers are somewhat close to an F cam.

well they probably didnt answer because they dont want their ass on the line guessing at p/v clearance. you dont mention what kind of pistons you have which play a part in clearance, you give relative specs on the cam, i wouldnt answer that either.

i always had good luck calling edelbrock tech.

youll have to get some clay and measure if you buy the heads. i use them with a .566 + lift cam, and 0.044 gaskets without any problems. i dont have stock pistons though.

Peak lift has absolutely no bearing at all on p to v clearance. The ONLY way to know what will clear on your set up/block/heads/cam is to mock it up and measure.

The issue is valve size and duration on the cam - earlier opening intake timing and later closing exhaust timing. I doubt with traditional valve locations (those heads) that you'll get that much duration to work without notching the pistons, or using ones with bigger notches.

You have to measure your motor - no one (not even the folks at E'brock) can tell you what will clear -- you need at least .080"-.100" intake and .100"-.120" exhaust.
