Question about 2004 GT

A used 2004 GT with 9k miles on it. There has got to be a lot of problems which that car, then.

And I got my brand new, first person to put the mileage on it. Sonic Blue GT, auto, Preminum. Or basically every option but sound system.... for only 25k. Minus the 3k rebate, so it was only 22k for me.

That's about right, add 2k for the mach1000 and an auto trans you'd get to the 24k I paid.

9k miles on an '04 isn't too bad if it has an early build date. Anyone know how to find that out?

I bought mine brand new for $20k fully loaded (except the Mach 1000), so I think you should be able to get that used one cheaper than that.

I paid $17,400 for the deluxe...point is the sticker was $24,500...... Why pay extra for cheap ass Ford leather, a stereo system that weighs a lot more with 4 more speakers and a heavy ass amp....Plus I don't have to worry about hitting the traction control button since mine didn't come with one. Thumbs down on the Ford leather. I had the Mach 460 in my old '00 GT, and they blew a lot easier with that system. I like the cloth a lot better than Ford's leather.

'04 GT premium, 4.6 miles when i drove off the lot with the Mach 460 system, 17" rims, leather, blah blah blah for $17,995 + T&L.

Thanks for all the reply's. I guess Im gonna have to give my "so called friend a call". Heck I might just try and buy a new one. All of the leftover 04's are still on the lot, including a screaming yellow gt, with 17" 5 stars(which I dont really car for). Sticker on that car was I think 24,7...and after there is a price on the windshield i think it was 20,5 after all rebates...plus I have a family member can get me a discount.....so should I be able to get a base GT yellow 5spd for under 18? It seems some of you have. For the Alabamian that asked, I got to school at Alabama...in T-town(ROLL TIDE).

I can't really tell you if the price is high or low, but if it is NOT a Ford dealer, it is most likely high as they will not be aware of current promotions etc... and therefore not price a slightly used ccar accordingly.

Don't buy this car unless it is $2,000 - $3,000 less than a brand new one in your area. Also, prices do vary from location to location AND are affected by the credit worthiness of the buyer to some degree. So, keep that in mind when folks pipe up about what they paid.

Also, a trade-in will affect the "selling price". One guy might buy the car for $24k and get $6k for his trade, but the other pay $20k and get only $2k for same exact trade. It's the same either way. In some cases, these other guys may not be disclosing the entire story.

Still havent made my mind up. The chrome r's on the car are fake...i went back to make sure they were real and of course they weren't. Im just torn between the two wheels. I like the chrome r's, but I like the look of the bullits. Im the kind of guy that will probably keep the car forever and probably show it 15-20 years from now, so should i get the bullits, or can I get the exact bullit wheel...not a replica for less than I could a chrome cobra r?

I had some major issues with the replica Cobra Rs and also with the ones which replaced the original ones under warranty. You might want to check into buying a new one though. The sticker on mine was over $26,000 but after it was all said and done I paid only about $22,000 plus tax and title that I paid with my down payment. As some others have posted they paid much less.

I love the internet!!! Wow you guys paint a pretty picture but I would seem to think that you are leaving out some details! I bought the same car as you at Dplan price then took off the full 3000 in rebate and was at $19300 (mine did msrp at $25100) so please tell us your secret for buying the car at that price. Roughly $2000 cheaper than employee's!

Well if you know how to talk to a salesman and keep telling them no, you'll get what you want. I was there for 4 hours bs'ing with them back and fourth...This is my 4th vehicle, 2nd stang, I would NEVER leave a dealership paying close to sticker. I am not leaving out any details...I paid $17,400. No BS! I know how to deal with salesman. If the dealership wants to make a customer happy, and you're aggressive, you'll get the numbers you want.
