Question about American Muscle.

I usually order from LMR as well. Their site is in my favorites. They do free shipping for just about everything, including to APO. Between them and autozone.com (which also ships free to APO), my needs are usually covered. I've always liked their site, too. They have the parts separated into different categories in the most common sense way. I never have to use the search function.

I know Stangnet isn't nearly as active as it was 10 years ago. But I didn't think it was dead and forgotten.

I would say Stangnet is as, or even more active than it was 10-years-ago......only the Fox crowd has become smaller. Most have gravitated towards the newer cars as time goes on. Can't expect everyone to be die hards like this group. ;)

Personally, I do most of my ordering with CJ Pony Parts, but I might start spreading the wealth around this season. I wasn't happy with a few of my transactions and how they were handled last season with CJ. Willing to give someone else the chance if they've got the prices and the selection.

I ordered from AM once with no problems. That was for the much loved SCT 4 bank eliminator chip that seems to get bashed by a few members. And I have sent back to Bama a few times for a few differant re-tunes on it, with no hassle.

But if I need a Mustang part I too am partial to LMRS. And has anyone noticed here on Stangnet, that if anyone threads a complaint or issue with LMRS, that Jarrod from that company usually responds to that thread to get ahold of him to resolve that issue? To me that is what I would call great customer service.

Thanks for the kind words Larry. I will do what I can to help anyone out on any forum I am on.
I dont like seeing anyone have a problem with an parts, or orders that they placed with us.

Also, the forum discount code is posted as a sticky in my vendor area. Use it on any, and every order. If you find a part that cheaper somewhere else, just let me know. We do price matching when we can.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to let me know.

Has anyone been able to get a coupon code from the AM guys lately? I PM'ed a couple of them last week, and still no response.

66 coupe,

I'm sorry for the delayed response! We've been extra busy here and I've forgotten to check my PM's on this forum. I'll definitely be more active with it in the future and try and get back to everyone within 24 Business hours!

Just sent you the discount code, too. Thanks for your patience!

Yeah American Muscle isn't so customer service oriented... was asking about an sct chip and kinda got shot down since I didn't build the engine or know internals. You would think they would try to offer suggestions but no such

I'm sorry you felt shut down! We certainly don't want to give anyone this impression, even if we are truly unable to help them.

I'd love to show you how Customer Service oriented we really are! What setup do you believe you currently have? I'm assuming it's for a Fox Mustang, since you're looking at the SCT Eliminator chip? Get back to me and I'll see if we can work something out!

Yeah, now that you mention it, we have had trouble with them just recently.

We had a complete set of antracite rims from them, all the same size.
A year or so later, my son decides he wants to stagger, so he orders 2 of the exact same rims, but 10" wide.
They come and aren't even close to the same color... They pretty much told us to eat s**t and live with it.
They said that people complain all the time that replacement rims don't match, and it was a supplier issue, and... well, they weren't going to do anything about it.

I am glad you reminded me of this. I am not doing business with them ever again.

Edit:
We didn't just buy 2 rims on that order either!
We bought 2 rims, plus 4 tires. 2-315s and 2-245s.
I think some Gorilla tools/locking lugs as well.
A nice fat order IMO.

ratio411,

Sorry to hear about the experience you had. I'm not sure if the Mustang Expert you dealt with had a bad day or what, but that's not the way we want to treat our customers!

There is a difference in the shade of Antracite that we use, but it's not a supplier issue. We must use a different shade for patent reasons, so they're a little lighter than normal. However, they shouldn't look silver, regardless. In either case, we should have been able to setup a full return for you, since you weren't pleased with the color tone. Again, I'm not sure why that wasn't offered to you, since it's our standard procedure.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to make things right again. I certainly don't want to lose you as customer, let alone stop doing business on a bad note. That's just not the kind of company we are. Please, get back to me if there's anything I can do to clear the air here. It's the least I can do!

Shane

Do you actually have good luck with them?
Every time I've ordered through them I'm always getting something f*cked up or completely wrong. I'll only through LRS nowadays.

88LX5.Oh,

I want to apologize for your past experiences! It is very unusual for us to consistently mess up orders. Of course, with so many orders going through our inventory, a few issues will slip through the cracks once in a while. However, they shouldn't be consistent with your personal orders, by any means.

If there's anything I can do to restore your confidence with us, please let me know. I'm sure we could work something out and continue doing business much more smoothly in the future!

I used to post in the V6 and '94-'95 forums, and both those have slowed down as the newer cars have come out, like you said. But I've been posting in the classic forum since 2000, and that's the one forum that shouldn't be affected by newer models coming out or the age of the vehicles included in the forum. The classic forums have slowed A LOT since 10 years ago. I would say this 5.0 forum is more active than Classic forum right now.

Maybe it's just not cool to build EleanWhore clones anymore. LOL

Advance and Autozone carry them.
The A9L equivilent comes up as $96 with an $85 core... but they don't ever check the numbers if you don't have the exact core.
It's hilarious, I've called autozone 3 different occasions now and they don't have a clue when I tell them A9L .... is there a long part number I can use to get them on the right page?
