I don't know much about about cars, let's see if I can describe this. 2005 Mustang GT

I have a shaker hood scoop that sends air down into a factory box, where a K&N filters is. All of the air is sucked through this box and then up to the engine. I was wondering if I would get more power by removing the box and using one of those big CAI shaped like a cone. My worry is trying to hook up the shaker hood scoop to a cone. The cone is out in the open. I would have to some how direct the air right to the cone area. I hear that the shaker scoop gives little HP boost. So I was wondering, if I did it this way would I get more HP? Or should I leave it the ways it is? If it needed to be done I have someone that can help me install it. I just ordered a tuner from Bamachips. If I need to I can upgrade to the combo CAI.

More air will not give you more power, the tune does. Whatever you do, tell the tuner so he can adjust the tune for your application.
