Question for those who know more than me about Mass air meters

I have a 95 GT that I am soon to add GT-40 heads, Cobra intake, 65mm tb and 24# injectors. My question is, can I run a MAF that would fit a 93 and before vs a 94-95. I don't see any reason why I could not use an older model maf as long as it is calib for 24# injectors. I am just having a hard time finding a good used MAF for my GT that is 24# that fits a 94-95. I am not prepared at this point to spend $250+ on a new MAF and even then I am still having trouble finding the right one.

I am trying to get all the pieces together and this is one of the last. Please give your comments on what I should do.

BTW I have a BBK CAI with the flange but can cut it off if I need to.

Thanks

Chris

Stock MAFs before 94 all had slip mounts on both ends. That would make fitting it to the stock airbox more difficult.

All but the Cobra were 52 mm, smaller than the stock 70 mm unit that came on 94-95 GTs.

See http://www.pro-flow.com/old files/apchart.htm for more information on MAF's that came in Fords with bore sizes and injector data.

Calibration for the 89-93's is the same as the 94-95's.. The only exception is that the 93 cobra MAF is calibrated differently. You can use a 89-93 MAF calibrated for 24 lb injectors on a 94-95 with no problems, but mounting is different so you might have to work on that a bit..
