In the fox chassis I typically do not need spacers to level the trans out any to fix the angle, the 94+ cars almost always need a spacer to put the trans in the proper position.
Only true way to know angle is with a angle finder, you can get one cheap at Lowes or any hardware store.
As far as the trans go, it depends on motor location, once you bolt the trans in you want the tail housing as level as possible in the car, if it needs shims shim it!. Most chassis builders motors at a 2.5 degree back angle, Ive never measured a stock set-up to be honest...
You be surprised how many guys never even check anything and just bolt it in...
Put spacers between the engine block and mounts if needed to gain a little clearance
I wouldnt be afraid to remove just a little material in that area with a die grinder if needed.
