Question On American Muscle Mach 1 Grill Delete For Those That Have One

Figured I would ask around before I complained to AM about this. I bought and installed one from them about three months ago and over the weekend when I was washing the car I noticed that the black insert that goes over the bumper cover (the biggest part of the whole thing,really) is faded in several large spots. The car is garage kept and I have never used any chemicals other than Meguires car wash that I use on all my cars. I was real pleased with the kit and I'm a little disappointed. Anyone else have this problem?

I've had mine close to two years and no fading.

Well, guess I will give AM a call, Im sure they will take care of it.

A little "Back-to-Black" will fix the issue.

If it's the Ford OEM grill, then it's made of the same material that automotive trim is made of, and sometimes fades.

I have to use some Meguairs trim restore and it brings it back to pristine condition.

It's the lip peice that comes with the Mach 1 grill delete that rests on the bumper cover. I emailed AM and they didn't really seem to care, it's just now out of the 30 day warranty is probley the reason.

I actually think I have some of the Meguires trim restore somewhere in the garage I just have not had time to fool with it. Thanks for all the replies.

You could always go ahead and plastidip it then paint it if you want. I was thinking about doing the same for mine and the cowl vent piece that is always faded on my car.

That's an idea, I just replaced the cowl vent to.....
