Question on smog pump & heads.

When i pulled my Gt40 heads of a couple weeks ago,Where the smog lines hook into the back of the heads was really carboned or oily looking. Inside the head also where it hooks up,it's the same way. Is this normal? I have my new edelbrocks on and am getting ready to install the lower intake and wanted to make sure that smg was not going to cause me problems.

Yup...they crud up bigtime...not only the tubes, but the heads can be even worse...like he said...thats how it is...EGR crud..
