Ok, I have just picked up a 94 Cobra with 49,000 miles on it and was curious as to what the factory HP and torque ratings were and what kind of times these things ran stock.
If I recall correctly I thikn that hp was around 245 but cant recall the torque.
Any help here is appreciated.

Factory Horsepower: (SAE Net) 240 @ 4,200rpm & TORQUE: 285 lbs./ft. @ 4,000 rpm.
I have got 13.9 on my Cobra with 122k miles and bolt ons, Street tires I went 14.1. Stock I got 14.5. Sticky tires help a lot. This is in a vert also.

the factory numbers are generally consideed to be a little underated. with bolt ons and regular street tires my best time hs been a 14.3, but im not a very good driver. my next mod will be drag radials to get the 60 foot times down. havent ran her with the nitrous yet....

best way to get specs

if you go to www.autotrader.com and go to research and compare and after one more link, which i think is compare cars, you can type in year make modle and type and then on the left hadn side it says technical specs and you can get curb weight and hp and torque, and all that good stuff, there you go.... btw, my 96 svt will work your 94, sorry, just had to say that.... lol

I totally disagree with that statement. I was running 14.1's@97mph with a 2.0 60' time with only bumped timing and a k&n air filter on my 95 cobra. I ran a 96 and 97 cobra who could not get out of the 14's, actually wasn't anywhere near it. Buddys 96 went 14.4@98, and another friends 97 went 14.2@99 with me driving it. He could only muster a 14.9@96 or so.--granted this was years ago, but I still have the time slips to go along with it.
the 96's just dont have the low end torque that the 5.0L motor has, which is probably why I could pull better 1/8th mile times then them, however the top end charge they were reeling me in quick, as you could see by the better mphs and the 97 only beeing a tenth behind.
FYI, with 3.73's, k&n, flowmaster mufflers, offroad h, shorty headers, and drag radials I went 13.58@100 with a 1.92 60'.

My best in my '97: 2.09/13.88/100.51

Mods: 2 chamber Flowmaster mufflers, MAC cold air intake, Denso Iridium plugs, 245/45 Nitto drag radials, H&R street springs.

I note that the mufflers, CAI, & plugs did not improve MPH one speck over previous trips to the track, I am not working the Nitto's nearly hard enough, & if anything, the H&R's hurt performance at the strip vs the stock springs.

I'll probably beat on it at least one more time as is to try & get the 60' down, but after that, I'll wait until I get the 4.30's installed. The stock 3.27's suck in these cars like the 2.73's did in the 5.0's.

Well I had my new mufflers installed today and do have to admit that this thing does sound different than most of the other 5.0s that I have had in the past. If I recall correctly these had the following items as stock:
E-303 cam, 1.7RR, GT-40 heads and the cobra intake, not sure on the rest. I can tell you that this turns up different than my 95GTS that I had and the other 5.0s............but I must admit that I am very happy with my decision to purchase. I even got the factory window sticker with the vehicle.
The original price was right at23,000 and change.......and it has the factory cloth interior not leather.

No the Cobra's did not come with a E cam. Stock cam specs: DURATION: 270°/Intake & 270°/Exhaust, LIFT: .485/.485 Intake/Exhaust, LOBE SEPERATION: 118.5°
Cast Iron GT-40, 1.84-in. (Intake) & 1.54-in. (Exhaust) Valves, Rockers Are 1.72:1 Ratio Crane Rollers (Ford Lit. ~ Crane Lit. States a 1.70:1 Ratio)
INTAKES: Upper/Lower: Cast Aluminum GT-40 Style Cobra, THROTTLE BODY: One & 60mm, MAF: One @ 70mm, Calibrated For 19lb. Injectors* , INJECTORS: Eight 24lb., FUEL PUMP: One In-Tank Rated @ 110 lph.

well the guys 97 car I ran was bone stock down to the tires and filter. Although his mph was only about 1 mph under yours which says that his car made decent power for what it was. Again, alot has to do with traction, track elevation, as well as humidity, temperature and gearing of the car.
His car obviously made a little more power than mine, as his mph was a little higher, but just riding in my car you could tell it had better low end torque.
