well was spending some quality time under my car yesterday just getting it finished up, putting the tranny crossmember back on... and i see that there are 2 prongs, or hangers, coming out of my h-pipe that look like there suposed to go thru some mounts that are farther up on the tranny... now do those NEED to be put in? or are they just there for extra support? i dont remember seeing them on any other h-pipe... anyone know about em? thanks

just slide them over the tranny crossmember, i assume its a 2 1/2'' offroad h. They are extra support, my stang didnt have the brackets to mount it. It doesn't sound like yours does either. I put my exhaust on and have had no problems with it rattling or anything, go ahead and just put the prongs above the tranny bracket, bolt everything back up, and your done. :nice:

The hangers go into a rubber and metal bracket that sandwiches between the trans and trans mount that goes to the crossmember. I've used them, and I've also left the bracket off and cut them off the the exhaust.

On, they do stabilize the exhaust system a bit more than not. Off, it makes the H-pipe install and removal MUCH easier. That said, I have mine on with my current car...
